What does a Google Play testing service do?

What does Google Play closed testing require?
For affected personal developer accounts created after 13 November 2023, Google Play requires at least 12 testers to remain opted in to a closed test continuously for 14 days before you apply for production access. Adding email addresses alone is not enough: each person needs access to the test and must opt in.
After the test, you apply in Play Console and describe the testing, feedback and readiness of your own app. Google makes the production-access decision. Read Google’s current requirements ↗.

Do I need 12 testers for Google Play?
Check your Play Console Dashboard. Affected personal developer accounts need at least 12 testers continuously opted in for 14 days before applying for production access.
Can I hire Google Play testers?

What if production access is not approved?
If Google asks for more testing after an eligible completed Gigsdo test, we refund the closed-testing service fee under our testing guarantee. The guarantee covers testing-related outcomes; it does not replace Google’s app, account, policy or content requirements.
